Connecticut College
Graduated 2009, B.A. in Japanese Language and Literature
During my time at Connecticut College, I focused on studying Japanese language and culture. As a senior I did research on ethnic minorities in Japan, specifically the Zainichi Koreans, one of the largest minorities in Japan with limited political rights.
I was also part of the Toor Cummings Center for International Studies and the Liberal Arts (CISLA). Through CISLA, I took special classes to give my education a global perspective as well secured an internship in Osaka during my year abroad with the AKP Program with a Japanese education news agency (教育時報者).
